Hi! I am Jess
For some people photography is a hobby, for others it is a passion, and for people like me, it's the very air in which I breathe. There is not a day where I am not inspired by something or someone.
In 1986, I was introduced to photography through a classmate while in high school. Little did I know at that time, this fated moment would dictate the direction of my entire life and career. In the summer of 1997, I opened the Lamb Portrait Studio in Springfield, MO, after studying with 3 master photographers.
Within a year the studio took off like a rocket and over the course of the next 17 years, I was honored to receive recognition for my business and photography. A few of my favorites acknowledgements are the Excellence in Business Award by the State of Missouri, two Kodak Gallery Awards, the Fuji Masterpiece Award, 2015 Child Photographer of the Year by Professional Photographers of the Ozarks, and voted “Best Photographer” by the Springfield News-Leader four years in a row 2008-2011.
Owning a full-time studio is a fast-paced, demanding job that requires a certain level of dedication and devotion. In 2012, I decided that it was time to share some of that dedication and devotion to my family life, where I decided to close Lamb Portrait Studio to became a freelance photographer.
As a freelancer, I could finally brand myself using my married name (Rosa) verses my maiden name (Lamb). Plus, I could evolve into the digital era by offering services rather than products.
My clients are important to me. I invest my time in getting to know them because it helps me to better serve and photograph them.
