High School Senior Photos - Last Call!

It’s that time of year when there is a crazy rush to get senior photos taken before announcements need to be sent in the mail. Graduation dates have been set and you should be sending your announcements 3-4 weeks before commencement ceremonies. Here are a few dates:

Springfield Public Schools - May 9th & 10th

Ozark May 17th

Nixa May 12th

Republic May 12

This means by April 12th, you should be mailing or sending your graduation announcements!!

Here are a couple of examples of custom announcements I made from high school senior sessions.

High School Senior Sessions can take up to 2-3 hours. It’s not my style to show up with a camera with a gaggle of poses and pop off a few photos. There are plenty of photographers who do this because it’s all they know.

I do things a little different because I am interested in who I am photographing. Photography for the sake of photography is boring - no wonder people search for the “cheapest” photographer they can find. To them, a photo is a photo - is a photo.

Becoming a high school graduate is a major life moment, and I want to make it something worth remembering. When a senior looks back at their photography 5, 10 or 20 years from now, I want them to feel connected to the photos. I want them to feel good because they looked good, not pose #8 of the 20 poses a photographer offers.

Another thing I do a little different is that I don’t abandon my client with a web gallery. I like to look at the photos with my client. I help them to decide which photos are best, and which are best for hanging on the wall, for announcements, college applications, giving to family and friends.

The process - first we look at a day that is good to do your session. I will spend 2-3 hours with you - starting at my studio and traveling to a few locations of your choice such as home, downtown, or a local park. Prior to the session day we get together to talk about clothes and locations. It seems over-rated but there is no substitute for the consultation. Everyone, and I mean guys too, walk away from the consult excited about the session. I am good at tapping into your personality and style, which makes it fun.

Within the next few days after the photo session, we get together to look at all of the photos. Together we pick your favorites, you only purchase the ones you like. Then I go home to edit, retouch and enhance your photos. Depending on my calendar and work schedule, this can take several days or a few weeks.

The cost - $100 for your consult and photo session. Your choice of paper print (4x6, 5x7 or 8x10) with digital copy $40 each plus the cost of the digital. Digital copies start at $65, the more you buy the cost per image goes down. See rate card below. All photos are print ready, and you can upgrade any photo to hi-resolution for wall prints larger than 8x10.

Here are the top 5 reasons why people hire me for senior photos.

  1. Quality - I like my retouching to look natural. I invest in high-end equipment, hardware and software to ensure image quality. I am not the fastest editor, it can take a few weeks for me to turnaround the photos. I do not outsource my photography, I personally process, retouch and enhance each photo individually for high-resolution printing and to ensure quality.

  2. Creativity - I never shoot the same session twice. Each session is designed around the personality and style of the person I am shooting. Even when someone is not certain of what they want, I am able to help them through the creative process.

  3. Dependable - I do my best to be responsive to email, text or voicemails. On occasion, it can take me a day or two to reply but I am always available for questions even when it comes to printing. You can count on me to do my best at all times.

  4. Expert - I have been shooting, printing, and framing for many - many moons. I know where to go, what looks good, and how to do it. I am your personal expert especially when you need one, all you have to do is ask.

  5. Fun - I love what I do and it shows. I have been doing this for so long, I make it easy for you. You are not just another customer in the pool of people needing a photographer. I want you to enjoy the photography experience and leave the heavy lifting to me.
